| Voices |
| I hear the sound of breaking glass down the hall, I cringe to myself and wonder what had made something fall, Soon after my pondering begins, I hear the sound sound of the voices again. As they start off fierce and then grow soft, I wonder if they started to drift off. But soon after, it starts once more, it grows louder and louder until something hits the floor, I cringe, then ponder what happend this time, There is a gap of silence that makes me wonder if everything is fine. Then I hear the shuffle of feet, The opening of a door and then the floor creeks. Followed by this is usually a slam of a door, Then pounding footsteps down to the first floor. I start to hear nothing but silence again, but that is once again broken by the sound of a slam. I sit there and wonder, who is outside, I sit there and wonder if Caine is all right, I hear the sound of a car engine, Then sounds of footsteps once again. I sit there and listen while my mind races with thoughts, in the adrenaline rush, is where I'm caught. I hear the door open, then closed with no might, Then I hear footsteps for the last time tonight. Just as I start to think everything is all right, I hear the voices for the rest of the night. |
