| LAST EARTHLING LOVE A meteorite crossed on its way The sleepy, setting Betelgeuse, It was the signal for my soul - Wonderful miracles do occur. And instant love filled my heart, Love for a pure, kindred spirit; Definitive love, as the certainty Of our sure, absolute mortality. And so I knew then, as I do now - And nothing could change it, no - I've met my latest earthling love The sign heralded it from above. And even if we will never meet It matters not, the dies are cast; My earthling love is here to stay As long as I , on Earth, will last. MY PLACE How skilfully, though nicely, you put me at my place, " Oh, sure, I would be glad to meet you" was phrased In your carefully detached response to my longing cry. So I do know now, for sure, my place is NOWHERE. And there I return, and swear, never to leave it again. TOUT EST BIEN QUI FINIT BIEN The door closed , with a muffled sound, And light went out, as cut down by storm. My ears could still hear the sneer brawl Of silence, non- uttered words, and scorn. My eyes still kept on their wounded retina, Bright images of never happened embraces, My lips felt still the burning lack of kisses, My arms, the full, cumbersome form void. That love, the most tragic ever non-event, Wrote down last chapter's word - the end. The rich, gothic, red-velvet bounded book, It will remain unread - text white on blind. |
