When I Am An Old Woman

The right side of the frame is cut out in the picture. I'm happy I took a picture at all.

We had fun with this poem, Warning, by Jenny Joseph, in my senior year AP English class. When I saw this cross-stitch pattern, I just had to make it for my teacher. I remember frantically stitching between classes so I could give it to her at our National Honor Society dinner (she was the advisor).

There are 156 flowers in the piece (I was counting down!), and each one had four french knotts in the middle. I couldn't do them well yet, so I replaced them with four beads instead. It was a very nice touch. One of those instances where a cheat actually turns out better!
