The Beauty of Comox Valley

Never gets boring to look at! (Glacier looks much bigger with the naked eye instead of a camera being held by me trying to drive a constantly curving road)

This is where I live. It is a beautiful place anytime of the year. Right now is the start of the rainy season. Which isn't as bad as it sounds. Believe me it is alot lot better than snow, and I have 23 years of experiece to prove it. So I went out today, Thanksgiving, to finally take some pics of the Valley. It was a bit overcast, had some wicked rainstorms over the last few days, but the sun was still out nonetheless!! I went to my two fave. places in comox for scenery, The Goose Spit (which is a thin, long peninsula which extends out from the tip of comox and in towards the harbour) and the Marina. I will be working on this page for a bit...enjoy!!
The Comox Valley Glacier
Everyone's Fave. spot to go for a walk. (The Goose Spit)
Looking towards the mainland (Powell River, I think)
Driftwood collects up onto the shore here. Kids love to make forts out of the washed up logs.
Casting a glance into the straight. Vancouver is way, way out there beyond the dozens of little islands
An oyster shell. One of the hundreds which scatter the beach.
To my left.
To my right.
When the tide goes out, layers of seaweed is left behind to dry up in the sun and then to be carried away once again.
The view behind me, into the harbour. (the Glacier is hidden behind the clouds)
The Marina!!
One of the few boats enjoying a little outing on Thanksgiving.
Canoers taking advantage of the first day of calm waters all week.
Looking towards Comox from the walkway at the Marina.
A barge in the harbour. The Glacier is normally seen in about the centre of this pic.
Spanky's. The place to go for fish and chips. (Although their fish supply comes up from Victoria, not the local fishers....ummm!!)
A popular walkway surrounding the Marina. Great view of Courtenay, the Glaciers, and sealions playing.
