| Exhibition Tourney Takes Ugly Turn, Slater Attacks Chiou Athletes | ||||
| By Curtis E. Bear Daily Staff Writer ELMHURST, Ill. __A friendly spoons tournament at Sullivan Arena ended in a not-so-friendly matter last night. In a celebration of the 20th year of inception for Team Lombard designed to give many teams a break from their match schedules, an 8 team-single elimination spoons tournament took place. "Things became too competitive for my kosher tastes," Team Holstein head coach David Holstein said. "And Team Chiou was talking mad shizzle." Team Sullivan had declared themselves to be the favorite to win despite no apparent proof. "We usually win these things when it's just us," head coach Ryan Sullivan said. "We learned a valuable lesson here today - when people play against you, it's harder." (Ugly, continued) But all teams seemed to reach a consensus on Team Chiou at the end of a tournament that produced no winner due to a shortage in equipment. As expected, Team Chiou was eliminated first. "I was telling preppie the entire game," outspoken Team Hong forward AC Slater said. "Those gals on Team Chiou -- they aint as hot as my mama." |
