Long FIeld #3
EVANSTON, ill.__ Junior first baseman Andy Ong hit a three-run homerun in the top of the first to set the tone, as No. 2 Team Victory (3-0) used near-flawless defense to defeat Willard (1-3), 11-2, on Sunday at Long Field.
On a day where three regular starters were out of action, the Team Victory girls came to play today.  They combined to hit 7-for-18 (a season-high) and knocked in 5 of Team Victory's 11 runs.
Rachel Lee impressed in her debut, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and batted in.
Team Victory committed only one error on the day, also executing one double play, while Willard made several critical errors.  Willard only hit three balls into the outifeld for the entire game.
"It was a tough day for hitting the ball today," captain
Joe Chang said.
Winds were blowing in the faces of the hitters all day.  But Team Victory remained unbeaten and stayed at the top of its Sunday, 5 PM time slot.
Team Victory faces Slivka in its regular season finale next Sunday.
Senior infielder Sarah Yu was the MVP of Sunday's victory over Willard, going 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored to go along with solid defense.
