Underdog Team Fails in Upset Bid
Team Drews head coach Charlie Drews (in towel) gave it his all Wednesday morning against Team Modern Algebra, but it just was not meant to be. He's got a nice smile, though, doesn't he? (COURTESY MATT COZZA)
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP)_ In what could hardly be called a surprise, today's 9:00am matchup between Team Drews and Team Modern Algebra ended in a shutout, with a bewildered Team Drews left to contemplate what went wrong.
"We just didn't understand how the game was played" explained dissapointed Team Drews coach Charlie Drews.  "Our time spent reading the rulebook and meeting with the referee beforehand was worthless."
This lack of knowledge was evident, as Team Drews players wandered aimlessly about the field for the duration of the match.
"We may be able to turn our luck around for our final game of the season on friday," says Coach Drews.  "The referee has decided to allow open rulebooks during play."
