On the Subject of Judo:

1.What is Judo?
Judo is a Japaneese throwing art, utilzing the pricniple of Kazushi (Off-balancing) to allow a smaller opponent to defeat a much larger one. Judo is a martial art, as well as a competative sport. Pain is to be expected, and it will take time, but the rewards will be great.

2.How long until I get my Black Belt?
Judo averages around 10 years to black belt, but that is by no means a set in stone proposition. Judo is more then just mastery of teqniques, it is the perfection of character

3.Can I do it alone?
Judo, unlike other martial arts, cannot be done alone. You need a body to work with. "A kick is a kick, a punch is a punch." But a throw is something completly diffrent. It utillizes your enire body and will be diffrent everytime. That kind of feedback can only come from working with another person. There are however "Skill Builders" you can practice at home (In other words, make it to class!)

4.Are there forms in Judo?
Yes. Judo has a series of forms, showcasing the ancient arts of Japan as well as what Judo is. The forms are "perfect" technique. They are not intened to help you in randori, or on the street. In this as well, Judo stands alone.

5.What if.....
This will be answered in time, grasshopper.

6.How do I tie my belt?
Ask :)

On the subject of this site:

1.Why is there a kenpo qoute on the main page?
Because the web-dragon likes it :) Judo Club is for those students who have taken the class and wish to continue learning advanced judo. It is the club members lower ranks look up to, hence the qoute "Lead by example, follow by choice."

2. Casey Jones? What the.....
Havn't you seen Adolesent Abnormal Amphibians? Better known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The  Movie? Judo can be and should be expected painful at times, just comes with the territory, and who a better teacher? However it should be noted Judo has a proven safety record, and it should after 110 years of development.  "Nobody understand cricket.."

2.Why are there only selected techniques after yellow belt?
Because the rest will be gleamed from class. You cannot simply learn from a website and expect to fully understand what judo is. You must experience it, and the only way to that is on the mat. "Girlfriends and beer can come later. School comes first, but Judo is life."

Club? Class? I'm confused.
Class is your introduction to judo, thoughtfuly provided by the Rec Center and the University of Montana (HHP 70251). Club is where you take what you learned in class, and understand how to apply it effectivly.
