He likes: -Driving, especially long distances -Operatic Singing -Cooking -Drawing, his talent being exhibited in his books -Going for a walk with my mother at night, as this is the only opportunity for him to do some exercise -Spending time in the countryside of England.
He hates like mad: -Talking to a drunken person, -Looking at drunken people behaving badly, -Smoking, -Public Transport (because he can have no privacy), -Flu (those who caught a cold or a flu are not allowed to enter his room)
He cannot help: -Sleep-driving on the motorway (because he is permanently tired), -Scolding my mother for being inefficient while cooking (and then he shows off his art of cookery), -Going to bed at 5 o'clock in the morning and getting up at 11 in the morning (Well, that's his biological clock...... Therefore he suffers from no jet-lag when he travels to UK!) |

Occupation
1. Writer -Well, I guess everybody knows him as the writer of Igirisuwa Oishii and other books about English life and culture, as well as about Noh, Cooking, House-keeping, Love, Japanese Literature, His Research, etc...) He is keen to write novels as well, such as Bokuno Kanashii Shippai, Marsha-ni, Kinsou-shousetsushuu.
2. Chef -Indeed, he enjoys cooking more than my mother, and he regularly cooks dinner for my family. What more do you expect from your father? His cooking skills were acquired during his childhood, when he used to help out his mother who was an expert in cooking......)
3. Poet -He used to love poems of Sakutaro Hagiwara, as he mentioned in his Kaeranuhi Toi Mukashi. Now, he is broadening his horizon in this direction, and has published several books including Maboroshino Tabi, Yugure Hasui. |
