Before we begin....

God...Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

The technicalities are on the side (I know what I wrote). Just look to your left. The following is what you would see if you looked beyond the surface.

I am a dancer. NOT A STRIPPER, a dancer. Dancers possess a talent and a grace that strippers do not have when they move. There is skill involved. Please do not confuse the two. And don't get it confused, I'm not knocking anyone's profession (If you think I am then you're way too sensitive). I'm making sure you don't confuse what I do with what you see at your local strip clubs -- and don't act like you've never been to one either. Dancing is apart of my soul. It is something I have been doing since I was 5 years old. I take great pride in it so please address it with respect.

I basketball, especially Jason Kidd, Kevin Garnett, Vince Carter, Tracy MacGrady, & Allen Iverson!!! I love the action, the excitement, but mostly looking at young black men succeeding. It helps when they are good looking to! I myself have no skills for the game (trust me I've tried), but as long as I can watch, I'm happy!!!!

I also music (as you probably figured since I'm a dancer). R&B & HIP HOP have a nice vibe, but I got caribbean blood, so CALYPSO is my first love!! If they made a Brown Sugar movie about Calypso, my crew would be the stars of it (S.W.A.T.!). However, I do listen to R&B and Hip Hop quite a bit. Ain't nothing like a brotha who can sing my pants off!! So if there are any brothas (NSA- No Sistas Allowed) out there who think the have that special talent, you know who to holla at!!!

I've never been to big on poetry, so when I read one that touches my soul I tend to hold on to them. The first one was emailed to me by my cousin when I was 15 years old. I still have the original copy that I printed when I received it. I try to live by that poem as well as the prayer I opened this page with. The second poem was found in an Essence magazine, probably around 2, 3 years ago, I'm not quite sure.

.:THERE ARE NO WEAK WOMEN HERE: Author Unknown:.

I was feeling you...pretty much
your touch and your dialect
had conversations with my intellect
and I did not object
to the flow of any subject
even the ones that made you erect
but let me interject something, correct something
THERE ARE NO WEAK WOMEN HERE

You see the last brotha that tried
to play me for a fool
wasn`t fully aware of the
"Ain`t no fools here" rule
and he ended up drowning in
a self made pool of stupidity
are you feelin` me?
come to this with only one expectation
I`m not lookin for fake love jones situations
I just have this infatuation
with brotha`s who can bring mental stimulation
and that`s because
THERE ARE NO WEAK WOMEN HERE

Understand that good wine and a fast car
can only get you so far
and it`s not good to drink and drive
because you are DWI (Dealing With Intelligence)
so check yo`self before you wreck yo`self
`cuz I mastered games as a child
so make this worth my while
(I`m grown) come to me with some style
overdose on some class
don`t just try waxin` the ass
`cuz I`m not yo` ride
and without breakin` my stride
I will read, write and erase you~
all with one look because
THERE ARE NO WEAK WOMEN HERE

Don`t take this the wrong way
I`m not trying to say
that I`m too good
I`m just to good for games
and played out playa names(like boo)
and played out playa skills
I pay my own damn bills
so I don`t want your loot
`cuz robbin` brotha`s blind just ain`t cute
I have no need, nor the desire
to set any of your shit on fire
I just want to be able to fly higher
with a man who is down --- to the wire
who is not afraid of a strong mind
who is not afraid of emotions, any kind
who is not afraid of strong woman visions
or a woman who can make strong woman decisions
a man who can let a strong woman cry
and not mistake the tears in her eyes
as a sign of weakness
admires her uniqueness
and when he steps to her, he`ll step to her strong
`cuz he knows any other way would be wrong
because
THERE ARE NO WEAK WOMEN HERE

.:COME BACK FORWARD: By Taalam Acey:.

We need you to come back forward
Sorted into the monolithic mysteries of missing links
Between cotton fields and killing fields
These brothers need rebuilding
Whether theyre burned out in cubicles
Or burned up on blocks
Whether theyve been pushing pencils
Or pushing rocks
They done tried to go from capital to capitalist
But it wasnt enough action in their auction
So they been walkin into prisons
Like roach motels
And the prison industrial complex
Done eliminated the division
Between slave quarters and cells
And look at him sitting there
Still thinking that this is a white mans world
When his cell mate is white
And his cell mate is thinking if we could just
Get rid of these niggas
I could economically improve my trailer-park life,
Become a father to my children
And a husband to my wife
He has yet to figure
That hes just a flesh-colored nigga
Who cant even afford the luxury
Of being white
Both of them blaming each other
Living in the same cell
Living the same life
Meanwhile the Net is destroying the minds
Of all colors of young men
The Net, Nigga Entertainment Television,
Constantly broadcasting the crippling passions Of the at-risk young population
Showing videos and shows
That make seventies blackploitation films seem like the work of August Wilson
Thats why I needed to have daughters
To give Ida B. Wells, Harriet Tubman and Queen Mother Moore
The opportunity to come back forward
I tell them they think they cant get past
Her breasther ass
But you gotta makeem
Takeem under your wings
Makeem rise
Makeem understand that the heaven between your thighs cant compare to the salvation behind your eyes
Revolutionary negotiation
He cant get wet if he cant get wise
Remind him of the late nineteenth century and southern reconstruction
When black women made a pact not to touch him if he wasnt about nothing
What happened then?
Brothers couldnt smoke sess on corners
Cause they were too busy smoking sessions in congress
But in this millennium the next couldve been Malcolm X
Is somewhere right now taking a swig off of a malt liquor
Called Black Death
Talking about Damn that Billboard was right
This here do put hair on a niggas chest.
Tellem your not impressed.
He can go home and feel his own damn chest
If he cant take the kids then he cant take the sex.
Like Fredrick Douglass
No struggle. No Progress
You cant process his request
Till he stops confusing his manhood with his baguettes
Tell him to tuck in his long-ass chains
And pull out some self-respect
Holdin up street signs
Like somebodys paying him overtime
Grown-ass men gotta run like a coward everytime the police comes
And cause he calls himself a player
Now your son wants to be one
The cost of clowns in the community is buildin
And our children simply cant afford it
Tell his backward ass to play the bottom
Till hes up and ready to come back forward!

Take the Greek Goddess Test @ Rasberry Rain

I am going through a lot of trials in my life right now. I'm at a point where I need to re-evaluate everything around me; family, friends, lifestyle. There are alot of things that people don't know about me and they will never know unless they take the time to get to know me. But if you remember nothing else in your life, remember these things:

*ALWAYS listen to what people say, and listen even harder to what they don't say. You never know when someone is asking for help.

*ALWAYS show compassion to those who may hate you. It's hard to hate someone who shows you unconditional love.

*NEVER judge someone EVER. Regardless of whether you have been in there shoes or not, you can never understand what a person is going through in there life. The decisions a person makes for their lives are chosen for them to live with and you to accept. Not understand, but accept. Thats what friends and family are there to do; love you regardless.

*NEVER turn your back on someone in need. That is when they need you the most.

Sorry I had to put his picture up again....makes you set goals in your life....

Now I've been told that I should post my picture. I'm a little uncomfortable with this idea but I'll consider it. Don't hold your breath though (unless I don't like you. Then you can hold it all you want)
