WADDINGTON AIR SHOW, JUNE 30 2001
USAF Rockwell B-1B Lancer
Despite its impressive size and power (which easily removed the hats of enthusiasts who stood on the approach road at the end of the runway), the B-1 display on the Saturday was rather lackluster. Two flypasts, one with the wings swept back and one with them swept forward followed by a landing

IDF/AF C-130 Hercules
This Israeli Air Force Hercules transport was used in the Entebbe hostage rescue, where it infiltrated the commandos who freed the passengers of a hijacked passenger jet.
The problem with photographing this aircraft was the amount of display material littering the tarmac around the aircraft, as well as people walking around. Photo taken with a 28-80mm lens.
RAF Boeing Chinook HC.2
A heavy lift cargo chopper, the Chinook has a twin rotor configuration, which gives it a distinctive 'whop whop' sound in the air.
The aircraft is capable of carrying cargo within its cavernous fuselage or on a hook slung underneath.

FN Dassault Falcon 900
Used by the French Navy for the Navigation training role, the Dassault Falcon 900 is a business jet converted for military use. This example put on an excellent display at the show, with a very steep takeoff and almost inverted banks.
Photo taken with a 80-200mm lens.
