(Chris)" Subject: windoze revisited - motor, guides, etc. (Kinda long) Well, I got into the drivers side yesterday to lube up the door locks and also to re-glue the interior door skin. Also did the passenger side discussed below. Procedure for both sides is as follows. 1. remove the "cover" around the interior door handle. It's slides backwards and off. 2. remove the mirror switch or cover. It just pulls out. I use a jewelers flat blade screwdriver carefully. 3.remove the speaker pods if you have them. 4. remove the 3 phillips screws. One in the hole you just opened, the other 2 are below the handle. 5. Pop out the plastic snaps that hold the panel on. I use a flat blade with a piece of electrical tape on it (the long way). pry close to the snaps. 6. lift the panel up while out. The top strip is a little tricky. the front tab just doesn't "come right off" the frame. Once most of the strip is off you can remove the panel from the strip and then use a screwdriver to get the front clip off. 7. peel off the protective plastic. You're in. On the door skin the "weld" they used at the factory to hold the vinyl to the flakeboard was letting go so I used super glue and pulled that back and held it in place. Took a long time but works well. I adjusted the window "down" - There is 2 bolts that hold the rear window to the crank so I just loosened them and dropped the window. It went all the way up and seemed OK so I left it that way. I sprayed all the interior mechanisms with WD-40. ---------------------- On the passenger side I decided to pull the window crank apparatus out in addition to the above steps because I was getting a chatter (BZZZZT) at the top of the travel. 0. un-plug the motor. 1. remove the 3 motor mount nuts. 2. remove the 4-5 track bolts. 3. remove the window from the track. Remove the 2 rear bolts and slide the front wheel off the track. The window comes up and out. You'll figure it out. 4. the track is kind of a bitch. You need to slide the rear bracket up through the window "slot" at the top to get the front out. It's an S-shaped device with the motor at the middle. Once the front is out you can get the whole rest of the works out. My "track" (It's a spring wound cable and a gear moves the "snake" inside a tube) has a spot where it's broken. I wanted to flip it but I saw no easy way to get it apart. Anyway if you read this far I need to purchase a left side door track. I don't need the motor. Thanks, 1st
