Are they any better than the >regular Ate rotors? Rich, if I were you and this were my bro, I'd get a set of Balo rotors from Steve D'Gerolamo and a set of Hawk HPS pads from Bimmerworld. Hopefully this doesn't sound like a commercial but that's what I'd do. Even Neil disliked those Deluxe pads and he doesn't do driving schools! He's happy with a set of Mintex pads currently. Trans mounts, motor mounts all good? Fresh MTL in the trans and 75W90 in the diff? You're all set pal! Hopefully all your coolant hoses are all in good shape. So why's the E36 down? Talk to Steve D'Gerolamo www.ultimategarage.com Your Axxis-PBR/Repco Deluxe brake pads will be toast after a driving school. The Metal Master's will work if your brother doesn't like brake hard and late. If he does he'll toast these too. I highly recommend a track pad and then swap to the Axxis-PBR/Repco Deluxe brake pads on the street. For my first two schools I use Performance friction pads that were over the counter at Autozone. I also used Autozone's highest quality no-name brand at the rear. These will last two schools, with 10-20k miles in between. Plus they are lifetime warranteed so if they look thin take them back and get new ones. If you must use one pad for everything this is reasonable option, but they don't bite the best when totally cold--the Metal Masters are a little better when cold.
