                                         THE ART OF KING-ING

There are two types of mediums you can use to create facial hair:

1. Crepe (Artificial )
     2. Human hair clippings

                Crepe
Crepe, is sold in a tightly braided rope, so it has a tight curl to it once it is unraveled. Crepe comes in many colors, so find a color that would best match your eyebrow color. Also crepe can be found at a costume shop or wig store To make the crepe usable and look more realistic, you will have to prepare it.

1. Stretch the crepe
     2. Iron or steam the crepe to the consistency preferred
     3. Cut off the length you will need
     4. Cut up the crepe into really fine pieces

Human Hair Clippings
When you get a haircut, save the clippings in a storage container of some sort. I usually use a zip-lock bag. Then when you need the hair for a performance all you will need to do is to prepare the hair for the applying process. To prepare the hair, cut the hair into little fine pieces. Cut what you think will be enough, or you can cut up as much as you want for future practice and/or shows.
Spirit Gum...  a drag kings best friend
The Stuff That Makes It Stick
These are a few types of adhesives that you can use to attach the crepe / human hair clippings to your face.

1. Liquid latex (comes out white and a little goopy. It's like a thinner version of Elmer's glue).

2. Eyelash glue (It's sort of the same as liquid latex, but it stings a little).

3. Spirit Gum (My personal favorite...It comes out clear, thin, and it's easier to work with, in my opinion).
You can buy these adhesives at any costume shop or wig store.
I suggest different type's of adhesives because some people may have allergic reactions to one or the other

                                          Tips on applying these adhesives

Liquid latex and spirit gum comes with a brush applicator. To stick the crepe / human hair on your face, shave the hair from your face and simply outline a design that you like and looks realistic with an eye pencil. Then apply the adhesive with the brush applicator to the outlined design a little at a time, because the adhesive will dry very quickly.
Eyelash glue doesn't come with a brush applicator it's just a squirt tube so you can just trace the design with the tube.

To remove the adhesive
To remove the spirit gum you can buy the remover, or make your own. Do not use just soap and water it will rip and irritate your skin. To make your own remover just use two-thirds baby oil and one third alcohol. You could just use alcohol, but I suggest the baby oil too to keep your skin soft and smooth after you wipe the adhesive off.
To take off the liquid latex and eyelash glue just pull it from your face. If you dont shave your face first, it will hurt when you pull the liquid latex and eyelash glue off. It feels like ripping off a bandage on a hairy surface of your body.

                Eyebrows
Guys have heavier eyebrows than girls. Just go over your eyebrows lightly with an eyeliner pencil but, don't go overboard
