It is difficult to find information about this forgotton demo. This is what I have so far.
Carve is a song that was leaked in June 2001, accidentally through music sharing programs (Audio Galaxy). Two people downloaded it and one posted a link to the download on the Slipknot MSG boar. From there it spread. Although Anders (ex-vocalist) apparently approved the spread, however Shawn -#6 did not want the song to be leaked. Thats why people are trying to stop its spread and keep it special.
The song is 4:08 long and contains both singers, Anders and Corey while opening with a repeating sample of:
"They are doing something rather curious with the parts of the body in a way we don't fully understand".
"Carve - There is nothing inside" - The song is reminiscent of the MFKR days, containing a small element of Funk within the middle and sounding very much like "Tattered and Torn". Anders opens the vocals following a long intro, which contains some unusual effects and a sudden increase in tempo. Corey then does a small rap style vocal which has backup vocals from Anders being quite hard to hear, while being accompanied with a more modern sound to Slipknot. Unfortunately the quality of the mp3 is something to be desired and still keeps the song a mystery. The song ends with a dying cry of "carve" and gradually slowing drums. The song available is "Carve 1. Demo '97" - the remakes of carve include versions without Anders, however these were not leaked. A clip of Carve could be previously heard on the old flash based, slipknot2.com website which was ran by Shawn. Sample: The sample in carve is something Anders took from an old Iowa Public Television show on the ruins of Skara Brae. The narrator was talking about an ancient tomb, and the bones they discovered.
