HIDDEN SONGS

There are a lot of artists that have these hidden songs included on the CD's. But I often wondered how it all began. Who was the first to think of adding a hidden song to an album. I know that is does go as far back as the Beatles.

But one band that went to far with it is Blink 182. (just for the record I hate Blink 182). They have an album called Take off your pants and Jacket. They made 3 different variations of their album which each have 2 different hidden songs per CD. So in order to have all of the hidden songs, the die hard fans would have to buy all 3 CD's to get all of them. Luckily I'm not a fan of them but if you are, download the songs. They really got some nerve to try to get fans to buy all 3 different variations of their CD's. Assholes I say. But I have to remember, it could have been a decision of the Record Company but still they sure like to rape the fans.

In fact I found out today that the big record companies lost a lawsuit and are forced to give back 140 million dollars to consumers for overpricing. I don't know all the details of it but if you sign up, you don't need a receipt and you might get 20 dollars for free. I'm not sure if this U.S. only. But if to many people sign up, it all goes to charity.

The record companies and some artists really take the fun out of listening to music. Such as Metallica, treating their fans like criminals, not too mention putting out contradicting material as opposed to the early days. I was on their banned list from Napster. I guess all the money I spent on them wasn't enough. The Recording Industry trying to stop music downloading. In Canada they want to put a levy onto black CD's (like they did with cassettes in case you didn't know) to compensate the artists and all others involved. Its all about money.
