Operations Officer (Jet #7)

Maj. Byrne is 38 years old and serves as the safety observer and evaluator for the demonstration squadron. He also flies orientation flights and his jet (number seven) is used as the spare for all demonstrations.

Maj. Byrne entered the U.S. Air Force in 1984 from the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at Bowling Green State University, Ohio. During operation Southern Watch, he flew 28 combat missions over southern Iraq.

Currently living in Fostoria, Ohio, he is married to Carol Caskey . The two have a daughter, Julie and a son, Chris.

Stick Time: Over 3,000 hrs.
