Maj. Bowen, 34 entered the U.S. Air Force in 1988 from the Clemson University ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps). Living in Kingsport, Tenn. he is married to Sonja Hienz. During Operation "Provide Comfort", Bowen served as a flight leader and package commander flying various missions over northern Iraq enforcing the no-fly Zone.
