*This is a letter to a bank that was taking their time paying back funds stolen from my account. I received it within a week of writing this.*
Dear XXX Bank;

I write you this in utter frustration at the ineptness of one of your branches who wont do there job. I had been a customer of 5 years and had no real problems until this past September. I was going over my monthly checking account statement when I found many charges on my account I had not made. I canceled my debit/check card immediately (9/05) and asked customer service what to do next. They informed me to go to my branch and fill out a regulation E. Which I did,(9/13). I figured that was the end of it all, I was informed the matter would be investigated and they would have the money returned. At this point it was just under 200$, I was just laid off from my job but was confident my money would be given back, I am not the first person this has ever happened to, and expected the best from the bank I trust. Though only part of the money was repaid, to my dismay in November there were more charges on my account, after I had canceled card. I went back on 11/01 & 11/28 and filled out 2 more regulation Es for charges some mysterious person had catalog shopped and were differed.(now totaling close to 500$) I was them told on my last visit, that even getting a new checking account would do me no good, for this charges would just follow over to new account. I then was forced to withdrawal all my money, leaving in only 100$ to keep account open so I could be credited back. Unfortunately she got that money too, and then I got overdraft letters, and the eventual closing of my account.

I am frustrated for several reasons, the system did not protect me after I canceled card in September. No customer service was given to make a simple call to confirm new fraudulent charges ( when there were obviously no other activity except actual checks & deposits). This could of saved both bank & myself agony. Next reason, is it is April now, I have been as patient as possible and I am at end of rope. I call the 800# and get nowhere, I call the branch and they always have an excuse as to why the have no new information. The credit department is closed, the person working on my case is out, call back in a week they may know more. I dont have that kind of time. I had done their job by investigating this myself by calling all the vendors that the fraud charges were made to. One of them gave me the name, address, and phone # of the perpetrator. I submitted this on 11/28. I dont know this person or how they got my card number, I always had card.

Now we know who it is, and we know I am entitled to my money back per your Regulation E disclosure that I signed when opening account. I have made numerous calls, canceled my card, visited branch 3 times, and have waited, because I know I am not the only customer you have, and likely not the only one with this problem. But enough is enough. I am 8 months pregnant and still laid off from my job, I need my money back, IMMEDITATLY! I do not want to have to go make a show in the branch that has not done their job. It wont look good to your other customers to see a highly upset and emotional pregnant women asking for her only money back. I just want whats mine, I am enclosing a few particulars at end of letter you may need to expedite matters. I have copies of my forms and a fax machine if you need anything faxed, though I am confident this matter will be handled promptly and without any more suffering on my part, so we can close this matter and not have to take it to another level. I expect a swift response.

Example of an I hate you please go away letter.(complete fiction)

Dear Pile of vomit-
Today I write you to express how happy I am. I have never felt as much joy as I have today and I have you to thank. Today is the last time I will ever think of you, as I write you this letter, my mind wanders to all the times weve shared. Just from replaying them in my mind, I can be assured that peace is no longer a dream, but my destiny, since I am now free of you. Thats right, as in goodbye; please let the door hit you on the way out. Dont call us because we will have your number blocked. And dont write, since your verbal ability equals your sensitivity, which is a zero, in case your comprehension is absent as well. Thanks for the memories, I now have a gauge for what I DONT WANT in a person. Please do the human race a favor and get the help that you need!

All of the disrespect in the world,
MS. X
