A:� Think that SSC has become a club to try to control folks and have no use for it.
And B: don't care about what other people think are limits and are sick and tired of folks trying to force them down our throats.
This particular argument has gone on for years now and after years of trying to reasonable I have decided that the best way to deal with it is to stop trying to be reasonable and simply tell the truth.� That there are a lot of pompous petty fascists out there who think that they somehow have the right to tell the rest of us what to do and we are simply not going to let them.� So they can take their limits and their SSC and they can shove them!
We have absolutely NO responsibility to care about other people's squaling brats.� If their parents are so concerned about their tender little psyches then let them keep them at home in the playpen.��
We have absolutely NO responsibility to care about the image of an amorphous ";community" that exists only the minds of those who seek to benefit from creating the idea that one exists
.Over the years I have seen the ideas of SSC and "community"" used to justify trying to make people use dental dams at parties (and yes, for those who remember the infamous barrier rule, I fought it behind closed doors and if I was less than forthcoming about that in public, that was my mistake and I admit it was a mistake), avoid handcuffs, not have a glass of wine at dinner, not do anything, if fact, that would make anyone nervous or cause folks to leave the black leather padded playpen.� I've even seen it used to try to justify CENSORSHIP!
I played that game.� I was a club officer for too many years not to see what can come of it.� And I won't play that game any more, nor will I expect anyone else to.
�After 12 years of trying to deal sensibly with this "community", I see that it has turned from a joyful celebration�of human freedom to a friggin Emily Post debating society and I wash my hands of it. 12 years ago I walked into an attic filled with terrified people waiting for the morality gestapo to break down their doors.� I helped lead them out of the attic into the world.� I saw the numbers grow.� I wrote encouraging people.� I fought tooth and nail for them to feel they had a right to be what they are!�� And what do I see now?�� An attempt to create a new gestapo with SSC emblazoned on its swastika!
So the time has come to end the game, to ignore the would-be dictators and arbiters and when they cannot be ignored to tell them to go to hell in the strongest possible fashion.
The responsibility of a player is ONLY to his or her partner.� Not to anyone else who might happen to be around and certainly not to any"community" or its precious image.
So the SM Nazis out there had better get it through their thick skulls.� We are going to tweak the nillers.� We are going to shock people.� We are going to scare people.� We are going to play with things that make other players blanch with terror.� We are not going to follow their rules and there is not a goddamned thing they can do about it.� And those who think they can control us are going to learn a lesson in freedom when their "limits" get jammed down THEIR throats because we don't give a damn whether they like it or not.
