Clothes were originally invented by lemurs who lived in the Garden of Eden. The fig leaf was used as a primitive vessel to hold tea, but as lemurs are not designed to drink tea, it often got stuck to their faces instead. Soon it became a denotation of the higher class of ringtailed lemur, and the craze caught on among all the other animals. Soon giraffes and platypi all over the place were sporting figleaves on their noses, tails and elbows. When Adam ate the apple, the first civilising effect it worked in him was the sudden development of a consciousness of fashion. But where to find Nike in the Garden of Eden...? And lo, he beheld the lemur teacup... |
