| Velocitis small frame shuddered as she managed to stagger over to the nearby log. Sitting down and leaning against the log, she pulled out a water flask and took a sip letting the cool water slide down her hoarse throat and soothe it. She ran a dark hand through her icy blue-white hair and thought aloud, That was a close call. Too close. I need to be more careful, I know better than that. But you managed to survive, and that is all that matters, said a voice from the shadows. Velociti staggered to her feet with much pain and effort. Whos there?! A male drow revealed himself from the shadows and chuckled lightly, I am Dahak. And you, my dear? Relaxing visibly at the softness, kindness in his voice, Velociti collapsed back into her sitting position before answering, Velociti. Dahak watched her a moment. Then he put his hands in front of Velociti, palms facing her, and a soft green light began to emanate from his body. His eyes glazed over as he finished casting the spell, his health being given to her. Once the pact had faded, he smiled at her. Better now, my dear Velociti? Velociti looked at herself and at Dahak in amazement. What are you? He chuckled once more. I am a Necromancer, my young Avatar. How did you know I was a Shadow Knight? Smiling inwardly at her young, curious mind, he answered, Being that Drows may only be as a class in melee skills, a Warrior or a Shadow Knight youre use of spells gave that away. As you should know, Warriors cannot cast. Velociti looked down. Oh. Hmm Dahak began to walk off. Dont move, my dear. I will return. I have something you might find useful. Velociti laid her head back in wait for Dahak. After a few minutes she heard footsteps and leaves rustling. She frowned. Its too soon for him to be back from the Neriak bank. Looking up she found herself staring into the icy cobalt blue eyes of her sister. Vel Why are you sitting down instead of training? The apathetic drow asked. Velociti smirked. Taking a breather, sister. The female drow nodded and sat down beside her, sighing. Still no word from Dzann, huh? Velocitis sister cringed at his name and shook her head sadly. Velociti turned away from her sister, not having ever felt what she calls Love nor having ever been taught compassion. So instead of comforting her sister, they sat in an awkward silence. That is, until footsteps were heard again. They both looked up and found Dahak standing in front of them with a large bag over his shoulder. Dahak glanced at the new female Drow sitting next to Velociti. He stared at her for what seemed an eternity before setting the bag down and bowing deeply to her. Then he reached forward, and pulling her to her feet, kissed the back of her hand with chivalry. And who might you be, little one? Neko Obsidian 21st Necromancer of Innoruuk, the drow answers softly, her blue eyes deeper than the ocean as she watches him treat her like a goddess. Dahak smiled softly at her. Neko Absolutely beautiful I am Dahak. A Necromancer of Innoruuk, as well. Neko, with much effort, removed her eyes from his stare. And having broken the trance, she backed away while Dahak reached for his bag. Dahak pulled out some armour and accessories and handed them to Velociti. "Enjoy them, my dear, he said. Velociti took the armour and put it on. After checking the size and mobility, she looked up at Dahak and said with glittering eyes, Domo, Dahak-san! She began to run off and yelled back. I shall try them out now! Domo! Dahak nodded after Velociti, and then turned to face this drow beauty. He looked into her blue eyes and saw immense sadness. Frowning, he asked carefully, Why are you sad, little one? Nekos eyes turned icy cold and she looked away. Im not sad. Dahak pressed on. Young one, your beautiful eyes betray you. Neko blushed lightly but remained silent. Dahak lifted her chin and locked her eyes with his crimson ones. They say your eyes are the window to your soul If so, you have the most beautiful soul I have ever met. Hes so sweet So nice And to me. No one has ever been this compassionate towards me. I like it, Neko thought. She looked Dahak up and down, and a feeling rushed through her like none she had ever felt before. I want him. She clenched her eyes shut. But I have Dzann. I will not betray him. I need him So, Dahak said softly, What is saddening one of such immense beauty as yourself, my Neko? Looking down, Neko could not help but answer, My love Dzann He has been gone for so long. I have heard no word from him. I do not even know if he is alive or some where hurt Tears filled her eyes. Such beautiful eyes, Dahak thought. And with tears they look as crystal glass to the point of shattering. Dahak frowned at the tears and brushed a hand against her cheek. Do not cry, please. It pains me to see you sad. And it pains me to know you have a lover in your life. Nekos head shot up. I wont cry, I will never cry. She wiped her eyes hastily and bowed to him. Gomen nasai Gomen, I did not mean to trouble you with my banter. She turned. I must go now. Dahak nodded sadly. You did not trouble me at all, never think that. And if you need anything, anything at all, just ask me. I am here for you, little one. Neko bit her lip and started walking away. She turned back to him and smiled weakly for him. Domo arigato, Dahak-san. Sayonara! And with that, and a wave, she walked out of view and out of his life for a long while. |
