The Lovers were supposed to be the lead characters in my story. The guy is Gustaf Mordock, a young mathematician frustrated with finding the elusive TRUTH. The girl is Maxine, an illuminated soul that Gustaf met and loved more than himself but was killed by a mystic thief. Her death broke Gustaf down, but his path to self-destruction was skewed into the path to his own enlightenment. In fact, Maxine had expected her own death, and used up her sorceries to lay cookies on Gustaf's path.
