REMEMBERING
At first we say "DaDa"
and everyone's happy
But then we get older
and we call you "Daddy"
Yet with each passing day
the older we get
We all get sarcastic
we lose our respect
So now to our friends
you've become the "Old Man"
We say we want out
as soon as we can
But kids must grow up
and no favors fate shows
We reflect on our childhood
with love and we know
T'was out of love
all the things that you did
Yes, we know that now
we do the same for our kids
So always in my memories
I'll hold you dear
Sometimes when I think of you
I shed a happiness tear
Now the word for these feelings
I just had to have
Webster's says "FATHER"
I just say "DAD"
