The award Ceremony was held as part of the Association's 25th Anniversary Celebrations on Saturday December 6th 2008, at the Harlem Plaza, Newtown, Dominica.
The featured speaker for the evening was Senator Kerry-Ann Ifill of Barbados who spoke on the theme, " The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with disabilities, Justice and Dignity for all of us."
Among members of the association receiving awards were: Nathalie Murphy ( 25 years of service), Reginald Rolle (20 years postumusly), Sylvanie Prosper (23 years), Joseph Gabriel (21 years), Merina Esprit (18 years), Augustine Lanqudoc (16 years), Sonia Julien (15 years), Ann Marie Nanthan (12 years).
Also recognize were: Joan Joseph, Rose Auguiste, Vondy Registe and Kerwin Casimir.
Co-operate citizens recieving Awards included: Roseau Co-operative Credit Union, Dominica Social Security, National Bank of Dominica, Domlec, Dowasco, Paz Travel, O.D.Brisbane & Sons, St. Alphonsus Co-opertive Credit Union, Bank of Nova Scotia.
