but in this generation, there have been 3! and after Willow's spell in the series finale, every potential slayer now IS a slayer.
Buffy Summers was brought into the slayer legacy at about 15. Her watcher Merrick died in L.A, and she eventually moved to Sunnydale with her mother, where she battled the forces of evil. She was the first slayer in Sunnydale.
Kendra was introduced into the Slayer scene in season two, after Buffy died combating the Master. However, Xander brought Buffy back to life, and there were two slayers running around. Kendra aided Buffy in combatting evil in Sunnydale, until she was killed by Drusilla slitting her neck.
Faith was brought into the slayer scene in Sunnydale after Kendra's death. Faith had experienced a hard life, but fought alongside the good guys, at least for awhile. She began to work in line with the Mayor of Sunnydale, aiding him with his plans of ascenscion. Buffy and Faith had a brawl, which ended with Faith on the back of a truck. She was hospitalized, and eventually put into an asylum. She broke out in season 5(or 6) and swapped bodies with Riley. She was imprisoned after she did something, then went to go fight alongside Angel.
