Some other works by Arthur Miller are Death of a Salesman and Resurrection Blues. Death of a Salesman is about a salesman determined to sale as much as possible because he is need of money. His two sons and his wife, stay with him, for the first time in a long time. They hope to find better jobs. Due to some bad desitions in thier past continues to bring them misfortune at present time. His son doesn't graduate High School and its due to his father (the salesman) because he always told him to strive in sports and not to worry about school as much. His son busts his father cheating on his mom and loses all respect for him. They make up and his son confesses that he is not into business and wants to work on a farm. His dad wants to help by killing himself and letting his son collect the money to start a new business. The salesman ends up killing himself in a car accident, before even talking to his son. His other son thinks that they should use the money else were. The salesman's wife is sad because she just paid the last of the morgage and now has no one to live with.
In Resurrection Blues, a communist leader wants to rule the county, claiming to be the son of God. But a chief military man plans a way a to get the country out of dept by selling television rights to free the country and killing the man by crucifiction. The man falls in love with a t.v. director. They decide not to kill the communist because his daughter is suicidale. The plan of the execution goes on but the man vanishes before. The political leader decided to sacrifice himself to better his country in the fight to live a better life. |
