Halloween is a holiday that goes back many years ago. The origin dates back to ancient Celtic times. Celts believed one day of the year the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became one. Some believed that ghosts of the dead returned to earth. By A.D. 43, the Romans conquered the Celtic territory. Both of their traditions combined and after the pope in 800�s decided to add his twist it was referred to all-hallows or all-hallowmans. This holiday changes everyone with each cultures own spin on the holiday. But mainly this holiday is derived from celebrating the dead and recognizing them one day of the year. Now in America it is mainly for kids to get candy and play dress-up. Halloweens morals have changed dramatically and its eventually lost it�s meaning. Halloween is related to the story the Crucible because Halloween has to do with witches and witches play a big part in the Crucible. The whole story of the Crucible is trying to find people who are practicing witchcraft. |
