Mary Stone, song writing collaborator of Bobby Fuller and mother of Rick Stone, a lifelong friend of Bobby Fuller, has passed away.  Rick sent me a copy of the obituary from the May 17 edition of the El Paso Times and a copy of the memorial handed out at the funeral.  She died in Tucson, AZ, on May 12. She moved there in 2003. The memorial service was held on May 19 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in El Paso.  She was born in 1917.  It says she was a pilots' secretary for Continental Airlines.  Her songwriting with Bobby Fuller is mentioned in the obituary.  It says in the memorial that Rob Crosby, a musician in El Paso and longtime friend of the Fuller brothers, sang "A New Shade of Blue" at the service.

Mary Stone's name appears on the composer credits on a handful of the Bobby Fuller 4's recordings.  She was often mentioned in articles about Bobby and is remembered by fans.

I lost my Mom in 2001 so I have an idea how Rick must feel right now.
