NBA Lockout View NBA Lockout View

The NBA lockout has now been going on for five months. The majority of people are fed up with what they call 'money hungry' players. I side with the NBA players. The NBA players did not lock out the owners or go on strike. The owners locked the players out. Now owners are offering a collective bargaining agreement that is less than the last one the players agreed to. The owners are asking the players to take a pay cut because they can not balance their budgets. It is very simple. Do not pay out salaries that you can not pay. For example: You are working at McDonalds and your boss comes in and says we are losing money. We have to give you a pay cut. You are going to fight his decesion no matter if it is for two dollars per hour or three million per season. The players are just standing up and not letting the owners take advantage of them. The owners pay the salaries and they should not have started handing out 100 million dollar salaries if they knew they can not afford it. Even if the owners get their way and have a new collective bargaining agreement in their favor, they are still going to have to learn to only pay only what they can afford. The owners are making a huge mistake and with the possible retirement of Michael Jordan; the league could be facing a major battle of bringing the fans back to the game that I love.
