The DaddiOs

It was a cold a rainy night when the decision was made. When his bright playing career was cut short by chronic alcoholism, Tom, the hard-nosed, hard-drinking thalidomide monkey, had no option but to move into management. However, because of his radical ideas on playing and training, and his desire to see total samba football played to a two-tone ska rhythm, Tom was shunned by his peers. He placed an advert in a local paper; 'WANTED: six young solders of freedom with a ball at their feet and a beat in their hearts' - there was only one response. Munday met his mentor and, like Mr and Mrs Heart, it was a match made in heaven, but when they got together it was moider. For years the Monkey and his young protg struggled to build their team, fought hard against the status quo and the establishment, but to no avail. Then the unthinkable happened, Tom fell sick and was sent to Gambell's care home for thalidomide monkeys. The monkey deteriorated quickly, and died just weeks later, a broken primate for never realising his dream. Munday vowed that he would fight on and get that team built. Adopting his father-figures first name and recruiting the austere but emotional Gambell, they searched the prisons and bars of North and Saaaff London until they had their team. Six (sometimes seven) men all sharing a vision all realising a dream, Mr B, Dan 'Danger Man' Hyams, Sachin 'Suck 'em and see' Gocoldas, Rob 'Just a little higher' Lambie, Toby 'Do you like my Bowling Shoes' Lambie, Jamie 'Jacques Costau' Gambell and Tom 'Head like a Grapefruit on a Toothpick' Munday...they are the DaddiOs, and they have been playing together on cold and rainy nights ever since.
