Hey everone. Wow 2nd update in a week. Something must be going on here. How many of you watched the WB series finale of Buffy The Vampire Slayer? It was the best Buffy episode i've ever seen, well except for the end, which i won't reveal in case someone wants to watch it and hasn't seen it yet. Anyway, any of you catch what Buffy said to her sister? She said, "The toughest thing about this world is living in it."
The toughest thing about this world is living in it. How true is that. Sometimes it is so tough for people they rather wouldn't live in it and take their own life. Now i'm not that kind of person and i really believe there is a better solution to everything. But how many times have you asked yourself why life is so hard? Well life is hard because it's supposed to be hard. If life wasn't hard it wouldn't be that great. The toughness in life is what makes life great. Granted, i have written about emotional stuff, like friendships and love and relationships on this nonsense web page of mine, and those are definitely what life should be about, but you can't get the good without experiencing the bad. How are you supposed to know what's good without knowing what's bad? Well that's where the hard part of life comes in. The toughness teaches you a lesson, it makes you, well, for lack of a better term, tough. The adversity drives you. Drives you to overcome it, drives you to prove to yourself and to others that you are a champion and nothing can get you down. And when you accomplish your goal, you not only got what you wanted, but that toughness made you a better person for it. That's why life is hard.
Buffy wasn't lying when she said living in this world is tough. That's why it's worth living.
Thanks for listening.

Hello everyone. Sorry about that very long nonsense entry last week. But hey, my life can't be eventful all the time right?
Oookkk, hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend. Watch Pearl Harbor anyone did? If you did, hope you thought it was good because i didn't get the chance to watch it. Some people decided otherwise. Hehehe, it's ok though, fun was had anyway.
Hey it was Prom weekend for some, now wasn't it. Hey Hey! Yay for them. Hehe, anyway, since i'm not in high school anymore, although i may act like it, i didn't get the chance to go to Prom again, though i would have liked to just because i want to experience it again and i could do it better than i did the only other time I went. Well since i didn't go, what better to do than follow your cousin and videotape the Pre-Prom festivities, you know the picture taking at the date's house and all that goods tough. So that's what me and CJ did, we became Jonny's Prom 2001 Camera Crew, along with his sister and his sister's boyfriend Ron. Haha, yeah we're pathetic. Anyway, that was actually kind of fun, Jon's date, Theresa, probably thinks i'm really weird, but hey, who doesn't. Click here for picture of the cute couple.
Well, watching these young high school cats brought back lots of memories. Me and CJ are like that, love reminiscing of old times and stuff. Anyway, i've got a question. When you go to Prom, or any other place where you bring a date, aren't you supposed to pick up your date? Yes, i believe is the correct answer. If any of you have a different answer, please email me or sign the guestbook. Wow, look at that, just checked my email and i got two responses saying no. Well whadda ya know, they are from the two dudes who were in Jon and Theresa's Prom group that DIDN'T pick up their dates. Well, look at that. How did their date's get there? Their parents brought them, and i must say, they didn't look too happy when they arrived at Theresa's house. And what were these two fine lads doing in the meantime, waiting for their dates to arrive? Playing cards in the van they drove in. How wonderful. How gentlemen. How chivalrous. Dang, i've got to get these guys' numbers so they can teach me how NOT to impress a girl.
Ok, sorry if i'm being hard on these guys, but come on now. Is the age of chivalry really that far gone? That far gone, that you can't even pick up your date for Prom, the single most significant dance in high school? It's just stuff like that that really bothers me. What happen to the age when you picked up your date, opened the door for your date, pushed in the chair for your date, you know, treat the lady like a lady should be treated, make her feel like the special lady she is? If youngsters can't evne pick up their dates, hell if they don't know their date's phone number (as these guys didn't), i am afraid of what the world is coming to. I may sound old-fashioned, but i think there are some things that don't need to change with time, and treating a lady like a lady is one of those things. That's just one of the things being "Geej" means. To bring back the time when manners mattered, when you were a gentlemen, the old age of chivalry. And if you don't think being chivalrous matters, you should get your head checked, because last i heard, ladies still wanted to be treated like ladies.
Thanks for listening.

Hello everyone, sorry my update is a couple days late. Been busy with various things. It is now Wednesay, almost 4 in the afternoon. The week is almost over, so as of today, i have one and a half weeks of regular school left, and then finals. Melissa said she can't believe school is already ending, haha, Ryan and me both can definitely believe school is ending, we've been waiting for this event since September.
Janet Jackson concert comes to San Diego on September 26, 2001. Tickets went on sale on Saturday. To those of you who got tickets, have a great time, and i won't see you there because i don't think almost 60 bucks for Terrace section seats in the sports arena is worth it. Spend 20 bucks more and i could be in the lower level or the floor. And don't you think ticket selling should be first come, first serve, and not this lottery bull shit the Sports Arena pulls? I do. So does my friend Patrick. And so do all the other people who were there in the wee hours of the morning waiting to get tickets. If you don't know what i mean, the way the Sports Arena does it, is that everyone who is there waiting is handed a wristband with a number on it, and then they call a starting number, and go in sequential order from there. So if some lucky cat who just got there when they started handing out wristbands and got his number called, he gets first in line. Not the people who were there at 530am, waiting for the 10am ticket selling start time. As for me and Patrick, my number was around 130 people off, and he was 50 people off of me, so he drives down to Tower Records to check out the line there, and then he calls me and tells me to run my ass down there. I do. We wait for another 30 minutes, turns out their ticket delivery was late 11 minutes, and that is an eternity in concert ticket sales time. So by the time me and Patrick get our turn, only terrace seats left for 50-60 bucks. Sorry buddy i'll pass. Damn. By the way, last time i checked, EBay had a pair of lower level tickets going for around 300 bucks, if anyone is interested.
Sunday was nothing special, just went shopping with my dad and brother, bought some new short sleeve button down shirts. Goods tough. Monday, i spent basically the whole day with Jeronathon. After our friend's grandmother's funeral and reception, we went home and then met up at Borders at night to study. Not much studying got done, but we got some good reading in about singing and we got down ideas for something we'd really love to do. Joseph met up with us there too.
Tuesday, now that was a long day. Long, but a very fine day. Melissa picks me up to go to Pomona, we want to see Ryan, so we surprise him in his dorm in Irvine. After some adventures there, we made Ryan get condoms at the student health center, turns out they are free, but it was the funniest thing because Ryan didn't want to do it. If you know Ryan, you know why it was the funniest thing. After the power went out there, we kidnapped him and brought him up to Pomona. We dropped off my stuff, went to Melissa's, Ryan and her watched Untamed Hearts and i fell asleep on the couch. That's so Mart. After that, Melissa dropped me and Ryan off at my dorm, we stayed here while Melissa was out, and we had some fun online, mostly Mart doing stuff, Ryan not agreeing, Mart cracking up and telling CJ about it and CJ cracking up too. It was a blast. Then Melissa came back and we took Ryan back to Irvine, she was sooooo sleepy from medication, so i had to drive back from Irvine (Read her page for her point of view on this). Took us an extra hour to get back from Irvine cuz the some bastards decided to close almost all of the freeway ramps. Melissa was having some weird dreams while sleeping in the car, it was probably the medication. Well we finally made it back to Pomona around 2am and the end of a long, but eventful day was here.
Speaking of ends, sorry about the long entry, but the end of the long entry is now here. Thanks for reading.
Ooh, by the way, if you haven't read my Mother's Day entry, please take a look in the previous daily entries. Thank you.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! Hi and i hope all of you gave your mother's a happy mother's day. Anyway, mother's day for me...it wasn't that bad. I thought it might be tough, but it wasn't that bad. My sister's were home with their kids, and my family and i just had a nice time together, talking, smiling, laughing, watching the kids play and fight, doing the things my mom would want us to be doing.
You know, when you're a little kid, you make those Mother's day cards out of construction paper and crayons, writing some letters backwards, and drawing some sort of stick figure that's supposed to resemble your mom, and then you give it to your mom and you are always too embarrassed about the card, so you look down, and then she is so thankful and happy that you just took the time to make the card. You know you miss something when you are looking down. You miss the instant joy and happiness that illuminates your mom's face when she sees the cute backwards handwriting and the cute stick figure that's supposed to be her. Now i don't have kids, but watching how happy my sister was when her 10 year old (no she doesn't write backwards anymore and she's actually a very good artist, but hey you get the same effect) gave her the card she made, makes me wish i could go back to the times when i was a little kid giving my mom a homemade card, just so i can give it to her with my head up so i can witness the instantaneous smile that appears on her face.
Now, it might not seem like a big deal to you, but Mother's day is a big deal to moms. So whether you are 5 years old, learning how to write your name, or a full grown adult, who may have forgotten how to write your name, just take the time to let your mom know you love her, and how grateful you are for all the things she's done for you. And everyone knows moms probably have the toughest job in the world raising us, so just take the time to let them know you care, not just one day out of the year, but let them know how much they really mean to you everyday.
I love you, Mom, you knew that already, but it's true.
Good night everyone, thanks Mom.

Yay for Monday nights. That's when everyone gets to find out what haffen to Mart Jahnkes in the past week. Well nothing much haffen to Mart Jahnkes this week. As of today, exactly one month of school left though, and then its goodbye to Cal Poly Pomona. Speaking of school, i'm taking a break from studying to write this.
If there is anything certain in life, its death, taxes and the opposite sex causing much unwanted confusion. And as a guy, girls are definitely way more confusing. I'm obviously speaking from a guy's standpoint, so ladies dont get mad at me. I know, relationships in general can be confusing. If you've ever liked someone, gone out with someone, and especially loved someone, damn its complicated as hell. You think being honest makes everything so much better, honesty is the best policy. Sure it is. I still think it is. But shoot. You tell the person how exactly you feel, and they say "great, i feel the same way." Now everything seems like its all better. Then the other person stop calling you, when you call them, you do all the talking, and they cut the conversations short. You call, they dont answer, you call 10 minutes later but you press *67 to block your number, and they answer, but the conversation sucks and its short. Damn that crap.
I figure, if you're being honest with what you said, you should get complete honesty in return. So why say you feel the same way, if you really don't? Lies, i thought if you're really close with someone, and you've given your heart to someone that you don't have to lie to them. Apparently, it doesn't always work that way. Which is what i don't understand. I'm gonna tell you how i feel, you should tell me exactly how you feel, if it isn't the same, i'm a pretty understanding person, i'd hope to work it out.
When someone is supposed to be your best friend, or really good friend, aren't they supposed to be there for you all the time, no matter what? They aren't supposed to stop talking to you, and begin avoiding you, right? Oh well, i guess once you've tried everything you can think of, and they still avoid you, maybe its a sign to really move on. That's life. Life is tough, but that's what makes it interesting.
Oh yeah, and i've concluded there is only one sure way to get over your ex. Find someone else, that makes you forget, someone that makes you feel the best feeling of life. I've yet to find another, but apparently she's out there.
Good night everyone, thanks for caring.
