JOB SHADOWING
Do you remember the first time an adult opened your eyes to a career that made you think, "That's what I want to do!"?

On April 15, 2003 approximately 1/2 of the Class of 2005 loaded onto 4 school busses and headed out into Morris, Warren and Bergan Counties to "Shadow" individuals at their work sites.   This activity served many purposes.

-It helped to demonstrate to the students the connection between academics and careers, making classwork more relevant.

- Students were exposed to the types of skills and activities required in different types of work.  The process of building the program

-The process of developing the program strengthened community partnerships between schools and businesses to enhance the educaitonal experperiences of all students

-Exposed students to their caring community, encouraging ongoing relationships between young people and caring adults

Overall this was an incredibly positive experience for all involved.
