                                                The Fabulous Five in Trouble
Melanie started up the stairs, dragging her sleeping bag behind her.  Suddenly she stopped midway up and looked around.
"This is Christie's house," she muttered under her breath.  "And the father I just said good morning to was Christie's father.  He acted as if I was Christie.  Why didn't he notice that I'm Melanie?"
She looked down at her legs.  They were too long.  And the powder blue sweatsuit she was wearing was the one Christie had been wearing the night before.  Melanie swallowed hard, trying to fight down the wad of panic that was gathering in her throat.  Leaving the sleeping bag on the stairs, she raced to Christie's room and looked in the dresser mirror.  The face that looked back at her belonged to Christie Winchell.
"Oh, my gosh!" she gasped.  Then she pulled a strand of hair out in front of her face and looked at it.  It was blond instead of the reddish brown that it should be.  Looking back into the mirror, she studied the face.  It was Christie's face, and she was in Christie's body.
"But that can't be," she whispered in astonishment.  "I'm Melanie. Melanie Edwards."

                                                                Missing You
"Dear Christie- Jana, Melanie, Katie, and I had a meeting of The Fabulous Five, only it wasn't really The Fabulous Five without you.  We decided to ask Alexis Duvall if she'd like to hang out with us.  Five friends seems like a better number than four, and besides, we don't want anyone to mistake us for Laura McCall and her Fantastic Foursome. Ha!"
Christie's heart sank as she reread the part in Beth's letter about their asking Alexis to hang out with them. It sounded as if her best friends were doing very well without her.  She hadn't
dreamed they'd find someone to replace her so quickly.  And Beth's letter made it sound so easy...
                                                           Yearbook Memories
Jana clasped her yearbook, looking at it through misty eyes.  She ran her hand across the red-and-gold padded cover, wishing that this year would never end.  All aorund the table her friends were opening their yearbooks and pointing to pictures as they flipped the pages.
"Oh, look!" cried Melanie.  "There's a shot of the cheerleaders, leading yells at the soap game.  Oh, yuck! I look awful!"
"What do you mean, YOU look awful?" countered Beth.  "Here's one of me as the witch in the Halloween show.  Talk about awful! Look at that wart on my nose!"
"Who's going to sign my book first?" cried Katie, holding  a pen in the air.
Memories flashed in each girl's mind . This year had been a very special time for all the members of The Fabulous Five- it was a year none of them woul dever forget...
