FREDDS CYBERFACE TUTORIAL
Here is what you need to make a cyberface:
EA Graph, paint shop pro or photoshop, nhlview or blommans editor, gfxpak, notepad, and nhl 2002. Let's start the tutorial.
Open up nhlview or blommans editor. Which ever will do. Find the player you wish to make a cyberface for. Once you have found the player, find his cyberface number. Once you have that, open up EA Graph. With EA Graph open up the file called bphoto.viv , It is located in the "photos" folder, in your NHL 2002 folder. So it should be here, C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002\photos\bphoto.viv Once you have that open, find your players number. Scroll down the list of the players numbers which is in order. Once you have found your number, click on the file. It will open up and you will see the players picture. Now save this as a bmp (name it whatever you want) into your C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002\user\faces. Now, enter your NHL 2002 game. Once in the game, enter the create-a-player mode. Now click on "import", and choose the picture that you saved as a bmp. Now your gonna have to put your hotspots in correctly. Follow the instructions given to put your hotspots. Once your done, your gonna have to fill in a name. So put in a first and last name. That's it. Then click on "save". Once saved, exit your NHL 2002 game. Now go into your C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002\user\faces folder. Your file should be there. It is saved as a .nhl file. Rename it to a F000XXXX.fsh Where the X's are, is where you enter your players number. Now open up EA Graph, and open this F000XXXX.fsh file. Click on Fac1 to view it. Now save it as a bmp (name it fac1). Open up Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. Open the fac1.bmp Now using the blending and sharpening tools, fix up your fac1. Make it look good. Copy the hair from the players picture and paste it onto the fac1. Fix up the hair. Once your fac1.bmp is all done, open EA Graph. Open your F000XXXX.fsh Click on the fac1. Now click on the taskbar at the top, click on "Colors", then "Edit Palette" and then "Save Palette". Save the palette as your players name, don't change the format it's saving as. Don't touch that. Now open EA Graph and open your fac1 that is all fixed up and perfectly how you wanted it to be. On the top taskbar click on "Colors" then "Edit Palette" and then "Load Palette". Load the palette that you earlier saved. Now save your fac1 as a .png So it should be fac1.png Now put this file in your C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002 Now open notepad. Enter the following command into your notepad. This will replace the crappy fac1 with the good one you made.
gfxpak -rp F000XXXX.fsh fac1.png fac1 Save your notepad as playersname.bat This will create a bat file. Save it to your C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002 Now enter your C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002 and click on that playersname.bat Wait until the top taskbar says "Finished". It should take around 2 seconds to finish. Once that is done, you could now delete your playersname.bat DO NOT DELETE your fac1.png Open up notepad, and put the following command in it. This will install the cyberface for you. gfxpak -p gamedata\faces01.viv F000XXXX.fsh Save this notepad as playersname.bat and save it to your C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002. Now with your fac1.png still in your C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NHL 2002, click on playersname.bat and this will install your cyberface for you. Wait till the taskbar says finished and that's it, your done. I hope this tutorial helped you. If you have any problems or questions, feel free to e-mail me, Fredd, at [email protected]
