I went to every sports card shop in town today looking 
to sell my lot of maybe 2,000-3,000 cards and absolutely 
none of them would take the cards! I got the same response 
every single time; "We don't deal in person anymore, it's 
all done online". Granted, I can be an internet junky at 
times, and I think the internet's brought us great things, 
but this is proof that it's destroying our culture! 

Why is it that I can't simply go to a card dealer and deal 
cards anymore? My only choice is to spend a lot of gas money 
to go into the heart of Seattle and TRY to find a buyer, or 
go to ebay.com. With everything transferring to online, what 
kind of social structure will we have? No one will ever leave 
their houses except to go to work and school (maybe). Moving 
everything to the internet is a bad idea, and though I do have 
a website and spend plenty of time online myself, I don't let 
it interfere with a social life. I have plenty of friends, and 
we enjoy doing artistic things, hiking once in a while, and 
just talking sometimes. 

That's something we all need more of, just sitting and talking. 
When's the last time you decided you'd sit in a room with 
someone (not on the phone) and just talk to him/her? I think 
it's good for the mind and soul to have simple conversations 
that develope into deep ones. Come on people, if you can spend 
hours thinking of so many things, then you can spend hours 
purging those thoughts with someone else. And it's a good thing 
to get ideas from other people, how else could you expand your 
mind? 

Bah, all this ranting just from trying to sell cards so I can get 
enough money to pay off a camera.
