Summary
Gun control, in all shapes and forms, but more particularly handgun control, has been an issue for the past few years. Some people believe that by banning handguns all together then it will fix the problem. On the other hand, it is not fully taken into account that handguns are also used a great deal in defense without a shot being fired. Most of the time the gun is revealed and the criminal perceive that his life to be in danger and the situation is under control. If the guns are banned on the basis that they are the most common weapons used in crimes, then the pro-gun control activists are rejecting the defense use of them. So in some sense it would increase crime. Crime will not be completely removed by simply banning weapons.
