Laslo Brillard has been working in the "freelance" intelligence field for a few years now. Starting when he was 14, Laslo discovered something he probably shouldn't have, and they have been running him since.
But that's not a bad thing...
The Technocratic Union has taken good care of Laslo in the intervening years, and he now posseses multiple Bachelors degrees in various technical fields...none of which he is allowed to discuss nor does he have proof of them ever existing. But that's just fine with him. They pay him watch people, listen for things, and observe events, and all he has to do is be in the right place at the right time.
The only problem is that he doesn't jive with the POGROM, or program as the un-Enlightened would call it. He has this individualistic tendancy, that the Order tends to look down on. Normally, people like him would be taken in for re-education, be penalised for their action with requisition denials, stuff like that. But self-sufficient people are difficult to cut off, and he was planted in too deep in some sections to have drastic re-education performed.
