About the authors

As we begin Part I of our critique of the article written by Dale George and Silvio Soto, we think it would be proper to introduce ourselves. My wife, June, and I have been married for almost 22 years, fourteen of which have been spent within the Yahwist Movement. We reside in Plano, Texas with our two children, Colista (age 18) and Rusty (age 16). June and I have never claimed to be teachers, but whenever we run into teachings or beliefs we strongly disagree with, we usually formulate a response in the form of a booklet, and we call ourselves "Truth Seekers." Our purpose in writing stems not from desiring a teaching ministry, but from desiring a "response ministry" to try and do our part to call peoples’ attention to what we feel are erroneous teachings. It is difficult to maintain our silence when we encounter teachings that violate Yahweh’s perfect law or that serve to dishonor our Creator. George Gabler, who himself formulated a response (yet to be released) to the article penned by Mr. George and Mr. Soto, kindly gave us his permission to quote from his commentary. Mr. Gabler resides in Columbus, Ohio and has been associated with the Yahwist Movement since 1978. Thank you, Mr. Gabler, for your support and for your contribution to this response.

Back in July we became involved in a discussion in which we were challenged to read the article "The Truth Regarding Inspired Titles" by Dale George and Silvio Soto. We determined to not only read the article, but to respond to it as well.

Well, it took over two months, and lots of interruptions, not to mention the fact that I accidentally deleted all information on the final diskette, which was my only copy! Notwithstanding, it is my sincere belief that this is a topic which needs to be addressed head on and studied in its entirety by anyone claiming to be a student of the Word, particularly one considering himself or herself a member of the Yahwist Movement. Therefore, we are sending out what we have in separate installments, hopefully one each day. Currently there are four installments planned, but if we are able to piece everything back together from our final diskette, there will be five.

If you’ve read the article "The Truth Regarding Inspired Titles" by Dale George and Silvio Soto, you certainly owe it to yourself to read another perspective, our "counterpoint," especially if it is in your heart to "prove all things." Were the early Yahwist Pioneers zealously maligned, or are we experiencing a "watering down" of the high values they steadfastly clung to and tried to impress upon those who followed in their footsteps?
