(The Standard is different in that is only has
HAII instead of HAIII coating,
no R bin Luxeon LED and no
AR (anti-reflective) coating on the lens)
The
front end of the L1P shows the glass lens and smooth surface
reflector that delivers a near flawless beam.
The
Fenix L1P tailcap is tucked away nicely and allows the light to stand
up on end to be used in "candle mode"
to illuminate an
entire room. The switch can also be modded for two-stage light
output
that operates by twisting for on-off operation while
clicking switches between the two brightness levels.

E1L, Fenix L1P and HDS U85.
The Fenix L1P runs on Alkaline AA's
for a few hours at diminishing brightness, NiMH AA's at near constant
brightness for about two hours and Lithium AA's for just over 3
hours. Brightness on my unit starts out at about
30 lumens
on fresh cells and then drops to around 25~27 lumens or so (on NiMH
cells). The Fenix is a great EDC
light that runs on very
common AA cells (and only one cell as that) and is very thin.
It puts out about the same
amount of overall light as my Surefire
E1L w/KL1 with a nice hot-spot with a very good amount of side
spill.
The Fenix L1P is one of my favorite lights. It
uses common cells, is small and bright and comes with a limited
lifetime warranty.
