Women as Enjoyment Goods
By granting more than necessary alimonies, divorce courts maintain women in their "enjoyment good" status.
A woman can ensure her social promotion by marrying a rich man. Men have to pay to keep her ; she becomes an enjoyment good.
As men rule this society, they sound like consent to this( since they make the law). Courts let women under a paternalistic order( it is no wonder in a Patriarchy society).
A more recent phenomenon is those marriage bureaus through which men can choose a woman coming from a poor country on catalogue with cattle-like description! and cattle like demands !
In this capitalist society in which all is sold and bought it is not surprising this happens. Those women are just trying to take advantange and survive in this system.
However this definition of women can lead to a prostition approach. Prostition has to be banned because a woman is not a good and prostitutes are considered as such.
Some are even bought and sold; this is the highest point of women as "enjoyment good" with all it includes; sex slavery, dehumanizing treatments, tortures, batterings.

No women are not properties!
