DA2 Monster Stats Guide: 24th June, 2004 By Kaboodleschmitt These are the stats for the Monsters in DarkAges 2: Engel. I believe they are complete, but if you find any errors, please e-mail me at kaboodleschmitt@hotmail.com. Legend: HP - Hit Points: Hit points is the monster's health or vitality. They show how many hits of 1 point of damage the monster take before it dies. The more HP, the harder to kill. In the game, monster HP is shown as a green bar rather than numbers. HP is the best atribute for raw life span. Armour - Defence: Armour is how much damage the monster can sheild. I'm not sure of the damage algorithm in DA, but basically armour works something like this: If you had 0 armour and were hit for 5 damage, 5 HP would be lost, however, if you had 2 armour, and were hit for 5 damage, you would only receive some of it. Basically, armour is the second most valuable atribute for raw life span. Speed - Quickness: The speed of a monster affects how quickly it attacks. If a monster keeps attacking you before you have a chance to retaliate, it probably has more speed than you do :). Basically, if the monster had a speed of 10 and you had a speed of 1, it would attack ten times to your one, or every 10 attacks from the monster, you could attack. Ouch. Exp - Experience: How much base experience points the monsters yield when killed. The experience gained goes down every level you grow. So at level 1 you would get all 35 experience from a giant rat, while at level two, you would get less. Every 500 experience gained, you grow a level. Gold - Wealth: How much money the monster drops when killed/is worth in bounty. Gold is used in a variety of tasks from buying weapons and armour to paying someone for a service. Generally, the more gold you have jingling around in your pockets, the better and easier you can survive. Level - Difficulty: The level of a monster is a scale of how hard it is to defeat. I think the suggested scale for your level to the monster's level is 1:3, or every 3 levels you grow, you should be able to defeat any monster 1 level higher than you could before you grew the levels. However, I'm not sure if the numbers are acurate, so if you grow to level 3 and start attacking level 2 monsters and get horribly slaughtered, it's not my fault! Agility - Dodging: Agility modifies the chance of being hit. The higher the agility, the higher the chance the monster will dodge, and you will be presented with the "Missed" message during battle. As you can see, very agile monsters are very annoying monsters, and also very dangerous monsters.
