As I stood,alone, in my musings and desires,
wondering ,if again,I'd ever feel love fire,
after so long that the fates cursed my head.
the thought that I would again seemed
like it would be a lovely dream,
but one that would come to fruition,after I was dead.
I wasn't looking,not really hoping,
nowhere near daring,damned near moping,
when from out of nowhere, my vision you did cross.
I was paying scant attention,you were for another meant.
I was polite,not pushing me,helping the one who sent
you to my friend,but you two didn't click,definitely his loss.
We were all at the game,not knowing that that night
that the tempest 'twas a brewing,easing Cupid's flight
And to bring us together,was the final aim.
The Furies cried,the storm blew in,for most of an hour
Huddled 'neath the stands,our group spirits didst sour
mostly wondering if 'twas for naught that went to the game.
The storm broke,the field drained,the warm-ups were renewed
and in the stands a jr.high crowd 'twas seemed to be viewed-
More people were a-field than in the stands
and before the night was done,you opened up my little one
We talked through the crowd,your smile was like sun
At dawn-into my despair it spread light across the land.
It was my re birth,that one smile
thinking that all the while
My journey though the valley wasn't all in vain
you brought the joy back to my life
The day I took you as my wife
And the mornings when I awake,I praise the Gods again.
