Walking:
I used to live close to the Peak District and to Sherwood Forest. I like to walk beside rivers and reservoirs in the peaks and on forest trails. One reason for this is that it is mostly walking on the flat. Although I do love to see the view from the top of a hill even if it does require more energy!
Football
I am a life long supporter of Tottenham Hotspur FC. When I lived in Enfield I used to go regularly. Now I am content to watch games on TV. I also try to watch all England games on TV.
Gardening
I now live in the second house that I have owned that has a garden. My grandad (on my fathers side) was a professioanl gardener, he supervised other gardeners for a large country house called the Cell just outside the village of Markyate (Herts) where I grew up. This is reportedly the home of the Wicked Lady highway woman, as depicted in the film starring Margaret Lockwood. My dad was a keen gardener and my brother is too. It never really rubbed off onto me until I bought my last house. I experiment with that garden. Now I love it and am looking forward to starting from scratch with my new house.
Cooking
This is another of my dad's pleasures and my mum's too. I don't get much time these days , but when I get time I like to cook, especially dishes with herbs. My favorite meal, though, is sausage, chips and eggs. The sausages must be good ones with sage in them. I like HP suace on it too. I also cook a mean bolognaise.
Travelling
I love to travel by car as well as by foot. I have had many happy holidays in Scotland. I like places with spectacular scenery. a few years ago I went to Skye. I like to go abroard too, but am not one to laze in the sun, well not too much. We went to Turkey on our honeymoon, and combined the beach and the pool with boat trips and a trip to the historical ruins of the city of Ephesus. I also love driving especially on country A roads.
Computers
I've used computers since college in 1975 & used one in all my various jobs. I have always been interested in them. I got intersted in the Internet in early 1999 and started to visit a "cyber cafe". I soon realised I would have to invest in a home PC and now I use it regualrly for all sorts of tasks, including writing and publishing this website.
