Greg is eager to get back to Vegas so I let him drive while I sleep. We arrive around dinnertime and check into the Bourbon Street Casino, cheap and just off the strip, I'd highly recommend this for future Vegas visits.
Since I have not slept I am ready for bed after dinner, Greg is gambling somewhere again.
After a late breakfast and picking up my winnings from the football games I picked correctly we are on our way out of town. We decide to take the southern route this time as snowstorms are in the forecast for Colorado for the next several days. It would turn out to be a good choice as an avalanche closed I-70 in Colorado and chain requirements were in effect for a period as well on that highway.
We pass over Hoover Dam into Arizona and then New Mexico. In New Mexico it is snowing pretty good as night approaches so we decide to get a hotel. It would turn out however that the snowstorm was light and confined to one little area so we probably would have been out of it in another half hour if we had continued. We stay at the Holiday Inn somewhere near Gallup New Mexico.
Leaving New Mexico we pass through St. Louis and decide to finish the drive that night and continue on home. We're in Muskegon at 10 AM the 5th and I finally get back to Ludington shortly after 11.
Total trip time 10 days and 2 hours. Hope you enjoyed learning about the trip. It was fun, but I think next time I fly and rent a car.
