Dr. Debajyoti Mukhopadhyay is a Professor and Head of Information Technology and Management Information Systems at Calcutta Business School. He is the Founder Director of the Web Intelligence & Distributed Computing Research Lab (WIDiCoReL). He is an Adjunct Professor at Thapar University, Patiala, India; and at Jones International University, Colorado, USA. He was a full Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at the West Bengal University of Technology affiliated Engineering Colleges during 2001-2008.   Dr. Mukhopadhyay was a Visiting Professor in the Division of Electronics & Information Engineering at Chonbuk National University in the Republic of Korea (2006-2007). He had also taught at Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey (1982-1984) and at Bengal Engineering College affiliated to Calcutta University, West Bengal (1980-1981).

During 1982-1994 and in 1999, Dr. Mukhopadhyay was in the USA.  He had worked at Bell Communications Research, New Jersey, USA in its Computing Systems and Architecture Lab.

Dr. Mukhopadhyay had also held the positions of President & CEO of Data-Core (India) Limited of Kuljian Corporation (USA) & DCPL (India), Technical Director of M.N. Dastur & Co Ltd, Director of SriSoft Corporation (Los Angeles), Dy GM of TIL Limited, and Senior Consultant of Tata Consultancy Services. 

Dr. Mukhopadhyay has studied at Bengal Engineering College (Calcutta University) (India), The Queen's University of Belfast (UK), Stevens Institute of Technology (USA), and Jadavpur University (India).

    Magic:

    • Many of you must have enjoyed Magic Show at your early days. I remember watching many such Magic Shows when I was growing up in the City of Calcutta. During that period, I developed a tremendous passion for learning and performing Magic Shows. I remember buying instruments from stores and fairs, and that was one source of acquiring equipments for my own performance. The other source was reading Books on Magic written by the Great Magician of the World, Late Pratul Chandra Sorcar or P.C. Sorcar, Sr. His younger brother, Mr. A.C. Sorcar was also a Great Magician and I used to read his Book too to build the instruments. Late P.C. Sorcar, Sr.'s son, Mr. P.C. Sorcar, Jr. is an outstanding performar in this field, and is considered the Greatest Magician of present time.
