| HTS -> Thrower's Commandments | |||||
| 1) All screwed up? Back to the BASICS. When faced with major problems, revert back to the basics. Rely on the fundementals which got you where you are today. 2) THOU SHALT NOT "OVERTHROW"! Don't take 60 throws when you feel yourself tiring after 40. Muscle fatigue leads to technical breakdowns. 3) Thou shalt have fun! If you're not, why bother? 4) Never turn your back on the ring/runway!You run the risk of death if you do! 5) Thou shalt set goals, and have a plan to achieve them. Many small steps cover much ground. 6) Thou shalt make the most of each practice. Know what you want to achieve before you start. 7) Thou shalt be videotaped. There's often a big gap between what you think you're doing, and what you are. If you lack a coach with a good eye, this is a must. 8) Thou shalt practice visualization. Mental rehearsal is the foundation for physical execution 9) You can learn alot more from a 40m thrower than a 70m thrower. Watch those who get the most from their ability, not those with the most ability. 10) Thou shalt want instructional videotapes. It helps to develop a concept of how you want to throw. |
