These two classes involve the creation of my senior design project. Our project was the creation of a MERCAL (Miniature Embedded Reprogrammable Computer And Logic. This project was done with myself and two other group members. The project involved the interaction between a FPGA (Xilinx SpartanXL) and a DIMM-PC. Our project was to create this connection and use it to input an analog signal from a music source and turn it into a digital signal after performing a low-pass filter on it and to amplify it. Then to pass it through interconnects of the FPGA to the PC, and perform a DTFT (Discrete Time Fourier Transform) upon the signal. Once completed, to output the signal back to the FPGA where it would be sent to a LED display.
