Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are two childhood friends of Hamlet. They are asked to spy on Hamlet. The King and Queen want the two men to try and figure out what is going on with Hamlet. The men agree to spy on Hamlet and find out what is wrong. I believe the two men believe they will be rewarded if they do find out what is wrong with Hamlet. I don't believe they are great friends of Hamlet. If they were Hamlet's good friends, shouldn't they just go talk to him? They were more worried about the way they looked to the King and Queen, rather then the mental health of their friend. Both of them seemed to be very weak men. They did not have the guts to tell the King and Queen no. They just agreed to go behind their friemds back. And, when Hamlet questioned them about being sent for, they didn't know what to say. They just changed the subject so they didn't have to face his questions. Rosencrantz nor Guildenstern seemed like people I would never want to be arouond. They are not people I would like to become friends with, knowing the way they treat their friends.
