In doing an analysis on Hotspur, I came to the conclusion that he is a very spontaneous and impatient man. He is quick to react in terms of language and becomes easily angered. You can tell he is impatient because of his abnormal behavior Lady Percy mentions. Talking of war in his sleep shows us that he wants to fight now. When he is reading the letter of denial from a man who doesn't want to join, he becomes furious and impatient with the man's justifications. He begins to mock the man's excuses by saying anything you do in this world is dangerous in some aspect. Yet, in his anger he realizes he doesn't need him. It calms him down and he proceeds with his next priority. The next priority, being his wife, has questions of his mental status. The way Lady Percy described Hotspur's abnormal behavior, gave me the idea that he is a man who very much enjoys war and bloodshed. It makes you wonder if he would ever strike a family member or Lady Percy for that matter. Does that desire of his fear Lady Percy at all or does he act different when in the field compared to home? He must, because when he is getting ready to leave she questions his destination and him being caught up in some secret business.
Hotspur has such a strong desire for war, I wonder if he planned on overthrowing Henry IV when he helped Bolingbroke overthrow Richard. Could it be that he did it so he would constantly have a challenge requiring war?  He seems like the type of man that would want some kind of consistent rebellion. Maybe he fights so much because of the royal "blood-line", so the only way for him to satisfy that hunger is to fight. He is truly a man with a great talent and definitely doesn't let it go to waste, but what will he do once he overthrows Henry IV?
